GTA VI’s Jason Duval And Link Make Their Final Pitch On Saturday Night Live

According to Kotaku, GTA VI’s Jason Duval appeared alongside The Legend of Zelda’s Link in a Saturday Night Live Weekend Update sketch. Marcello Hernández played Jason, while Mikey Day portrayed Link during an episode hosted by Dakota Johnson.

Colin Jost introduced the characters as rivals pitching their games for the holiday season. Kotaku reports that the pair exchanged insults about Link’s appearance and life in Vice City before bringing out rocket launcher and fairy bottle props.

Kotaku was critical of the sketch’s humour, comparing it unfavourably with Elon Musk’s Mario Kart sketch. The outlet did, however, praise the work behind Link’s costume.

The publisher framed the segment around the games’ competing November releases. According to Kotaku, other major games have avoided GTA VI’s release window, but Nintendo’s newly announced Ocarina of Time remake is targeting the same period, setting up competition for media attention despite the games appearing on different consoles.
